Hey ,
First off, can I get a round of applause for your stunning work on social media? 🙌
The leads are pouring in, the clients are lining up, and you're making waves in the online coaching world.
But let me share a little secret.
You might be missing a golden opportunity.
You've got the social media game on lock, but have you considered what would happen if an algorithm changed overnight or your favourite platform vanished?
Yikes!
Fortunately, there's a more dependable way to keep your audience engaged and nurture those relationships…
…your email list.
To get started you’re gonna need a lead magnet. But it doesn’t have to be an epic e-book that takes you 6 months to write.
Let me introduce a li’l somethin’ I call the SARS Principle:
Short
Actionable
Result-Focused
Simple
Let’s break that down shall we?
Short: In a world with the attention span of a goldfish, brevity wins. Your lead magnet should be concise yet packed with value. Think cheat sheets, quick guides, or a 5-minute challenge.
Actionable: Your audience wants change. Deliver a lead magnet that prompts immediate action. A mini-course, a checklist, or a set of templates can do wonders.
Result-Focused: Showcase tangible outcomes. If your lead magnet promises a clearer mindset in 7 days or a boost in productivity in 48 hours, it's bound to grab attention.
Simple: Einstein said, "If you can't explain it simply, you don't
understand it well enough." Use jargon-free language, relatable examples, and easy steps. Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.
Now, arm yourself with an email software (with built-in landing pages).
Create that attention-grabbing landing page and flash that lead magnet everywhere you have an online presence.
Facebook: Add it to the text of your profile
picture, and as a pinned post.
Podcast: Drop the link in the show notes and give it a shoutout at the beginning and end.
YouTube: CTAs in the video notes are golden. Consider even creating a short promo as your channel trailer.
Instagram: That ever-precious link in bio? It's waiting.
LinkedIn: Enhance your profile by sharing your lead magnet there.
Discovery Calls: Not every call leads to an instant client. Add them to your list (with their permission, of
course). They might jump aboard later.
Facebook Group: Offer value in exchange for email addresses from new members.
Love writing? Guest posts or even articles on Medium or LinkedIn can be a stage for your lead magnet.
Remember, the beauty of this approach is that you can craft multiple lead magnets for different facets of your
coaching.
Rotate them, promote them, and even consider boosting them with ads.
Bottom Line…
If you're already marketing online, there's no reason not to be building your email list.
Happy list building
